अथ योगानुशासनम् Atha yogānuśāsanam

Sarah Montross / Founder

Sarah has been practicing yoga since 2002, and teaching yoga since 2007. She started her yoga journey primarily practicing and teaching in the vinyasa style. Over the years, her practice has slowly evolved to be entirely influenced by teachers in the Iyengar method, and this shows in her alignment classes. She has traveled to India many times, usually taking students along for the profound journey. Sarah teaches in a way that honors yoga’s philosophical roots while making teachings relevant for the challenges of today’s student. Sarah teaches primarily alignment yoga and also Yoga Nidra and philosophy classes.

Sarah received her 200-hour certification from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center and her 500-hour certification from Yogamaya, both in New York City. Sarah is a Houston native who after graduating from the University of Houston started a long career in publishing. This career took her all over the country for work travel and also to Cincinnati, Austin, Chicago and New York to live. She has since left the publishing industry, grateful for all the years and what she experienced and gained, to focus her time and energy on bringing yoga to more students.
